About the Founder

I have loved everything about food, cooking and entertaining from a very young age. Aged 6 I tried to make a marmalade ice-cream by combining milk with marmalade then freezing it.  A disaster, clearly. In my teens I had improved enough to cook for my father’s clients in return for pocket money. Then in my 20s, barely a week passed without me throwing some kind of dinner party, which sadly for the neighbours, continues to be the case in my (very early) 40s.

Having lived in London most of my life, I moved to Hong Kong with my husband 8 years ago and we now have three children aged 8, 6 and 3. While on maternity (or eternity leave, as my husband refers to it...) from my previous career in Banking, I indulged my food passion at every opportunity. I have a minor addiction to food shopping, devour cookery books at any (rare) quiet moment in my house, love to lap up HK's thriving restaurant scene, and spend all my time cooking and planning menus, from baby purées to packed lunches, boozy brunches and  silly suppers. Mango Menus is the product of this.

In June 2016, my world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Since then I have radically changed my lifestyle and am committed more than ever to a highly nutritious diet, the recipes of which I look forward to sharing on Mango Menus.

I also write freelance for Sassy, Playtimes, the HK Hub, Geobaby, The List Magazine and other media in Hong Kong.

I would love to hear from you, about your food & health experiences in Hong Kong, from shopping to recipe sharing or if you have a food or health business and would like to work with Mango Menus, get in touch for our media kit.
